What kind of window treatments work well with bay windows that are on the front of the house?
Posted under Window TreatmentsAnother asker asked how she should decorate the area around her bay windows. Those answers (benches, plants, wicker, etc) were helpful, but I am more interested in window treatments.
I would use the rice paper blinds. The filter out the suns rays but let the light in. They also make mechanical ones with remote controls.( Sound like a kids toy.)

You can go with roman shades or JC Penny’s has curtain rods to fit a bay window and then you can either purchase curtains or make them cheaply out of fabric.

Bay windows are a beautiful architectural accessory to any room, so you want to find a window treatment to accentuate this feature. Your best bet is to go custom — custom window treatments will allow you to create the perfect window treatment that will specifically fit into the design of your window.
Past that, your options are endless — if you like the look of soft fabrics, Roman shades are a great option.
Depending on the climate where you live, bay windows, due to their size, can often be the source of heat loss in your home. With that said, I’d try a custom cellular shade - cellular shades give you a soft, tailored look (you can get them in a wide variety of colors and patterns) but also provide an insulating layer between you and the outside world, trapping warm air inside during the winter, and keeping it out during the summer months.
Check out the variety of custom window treatments available. A good place to start: blindcrafter.com.
